LDA International provided a 3-day training course for the Little People Romania volunteers. The seminars where centered around 3 key topics;

Managing Performance Effectively

Making Projects Work

LDA International is a leading management-consulting firm from the UK. A team of 6 consultants came to Cluj, who specialize in training, development and assessment services to individuals, groups and organisations. The consultants consult international companies like DIG, the Royal Mail of England, the National Health Service and sport management teams, but for one week they focused their attention and skills to help consult the volunteers of the Little People Romania. The training was to help empower the volunteers with managerial training and mindsets that will enhance the Little People’s many projects.  Investment of this type of training will benefit not only the Cluj community but will also give the volunteers invaluable leaderships skills that they can use in their student, professional and community lives. The Little People, sponsored by the local business community, facilitated the seminars and the training was provided for free by LDA International.

Each one of the consultants was hugely impressed with the drive, passion and focus of the Cluj volunteers!

One of them wrote: “I can’ t begin to say how delighted and privileged I am to have had the opportunity to work with you and your teams.  The enthusiasm and commitment from everyone just amaze me.”

The training and topics were very engaging and all the volunteers learnt many new project management skills. The knock on effect is some key new projects have received the key impetus to get started, and volunteers feel even more envisioned to start up and manage new projects.

The core management team of Little People also received specialised input for an additional week, in the areas of change management, organisational development and personal performance coaching that will help our organisation to perform at an even higher efficiency level.

The Little People will continue collaboration with LDA International and will ensure that appropriate training will be available for more volunteers within the Cluj community in the near future.
