The following is posted on the CFR 1907 Cluj Football team Website. The cherry-coloured pioneers 13 October 2008 A photo and an autograph from a winner always bring a smile on anyone’s face. At the official training session before the fixture between CFR 1907 Cluj and Chelsea London, on the 1st of October 2008, the heroes from the football pitch met the victors of the fight against a terrible illness: cancer. They are the “Pioneers” (Temerarii) of the “Little People Association” Romania. With the help of Chelsea and CFR 1907 Cluj officials, the children from the “Temerarii” club watched the English training session, at the end of which they received autographs and took photographs of their favourites. CFR 1907 Cluj wishes to further support such events and, close to the winter holidays, will visit the “Temerarii” to show them that they are not alone in their battle. The football player has the advantage of seeing his opponent on the pitch, but these children defend their right to live against an invisible and infinitely more dangerous adversary: cancer. You are not alone!
