Beyonce Knowles
Beyoncé Knowles the popular R&B singer/actress from the USA paid a special visit to the pediatric cancer ward in Cluj at the invitation of the Little People Association, Romania. Beyoncé flew to Romania from Africa, landed in Cluj at 4.30 pm. She was escorted directly to the hospital and spent time with the kids answering their questions, posing with them for photos the children received afterwards of the memorable event and giving presents.
Looking at Alex (7, right), who is partially
paralyzed, is not able to speak anymore and several tumors on his cervical nerves severely affected his eye movement and vision, one didn’t expect much of a reaction, but to all of our surprise, ever since Monday, any mention of Beyoncé’s visit brings a smile to his face! He is a true fan! He’s always been listening to her music and knew
EXACTLY who came to see him!!! It was amazing to see him light up and get so excited! He is in a lot of pain and doesn’t communicate much, but his consistent positive feedback about this experience that has put real magic in his life is still there, a week after dear Beyoncé hugged him ! A sweet coincidence is also that his favorite cartoon character happened to be given to him in the gift bag Beyoncé presented to him. It was Lady, from the Disney production “The Lady and the Tramp” that he watches every day.
Beyonce made everybody feel so special, she gave out beautiful bags with gifts to each one of the children and signed autographs, hugged and joked with the kids... we can truly say that she is one very special lady! She wanted hang out with the kids!
We would like to say a special thank you to Beyonce! Her visit and example of going out of her way to bring some joy to the kids really touched all of us on the ward that day!!
